2, Use action voice over passive voice. Choose strong verbs. Avoid adverbs.
3, Write for one real person, and make it sound natural aloud. Engage the imagination by using sensory detail, active scenes, and vivid metaphor.
4, Write regularly. Draft first – don’t worry about perfection on the first pass. Then revise to clarify and tighten.
5, Write what genuinely matters to you.
I want to write because it confronts me.
The irresistible charm of a new-found dream seems grand…
The incessant whisper of fear seems crushing…
…until it meets the ink on paper.
Each word penned strips down the intimidating nature of thoughts, even the tumbleweed ones.
And what’s left is reality.
Writing is not for the fainted heart. It demands and I shall be made strong.
I need a cause to live for and fight for.
That cause has to be selfless (not self-centered).
That cause has to be grounded in truth and love (not in lies and destruction).
That cause has to be transformative to people’s most inner part.
That cause has to be eternal.
Therefore, I have resolved to live for and fight for GOD’S GLORY. It’s the ultimate answer to the question in my heart. There can never be a cause that is selfless, grounded in truth & love, transformative, and eternal like living for GOD’S GLORY.
How shall I live out my resolve?
By dedicating my utmost inner life (the part that no one can see, but only God and I know) to worship the Lord.
By honoring the Lord through my daily habits, my work & service, and my family.
By sharing the Gospel to others. The Gospel is the core instrument that brings people back to God, so that they can be transformed, be grounded in truth & love, and be selfless in service and leadership.
